In the summer of 2020, amidst the chaos of the world, Ashley and Eric’s paths converged through the magic of algorithms on Hinge. Bonding over a shared love for nature and adventure, they decided to take the plunge and meet up for their first date at a quaint beach in Malibu. Little did they know that this initial encounter would set the stage for a beautiful journey ahead.
Despite both facing major career changes a month into dating – Ashley losing her teaching position due to the pandemic, and Eric embarking on the challenging path to becoming a paramedic firefighter – they decided to seize the moment. Eric planned a week-long trip to Mammoth for what he called a “final hurrah” before diving into the demanding fire academy grind. What started as nervous anticipation turned into an incredible experience, marking the beginning of their love story.
The story of Eric’s proposal to Ashley is a testament to meticulous planning, unforeseen challenges, and a whole lot of love. Custom designing a ring with Ashley’s mom, Eric ensured it reflected their journey – waves for their first date at the beach and engraved mountains representing their memorable trip to Mammoth.
Under the guise of a casual “photo shoot” day in February, Eric enlisted the help of Ashley’s best friends and despite unpredictable weather, rain, and wind, Eric persevered and asked Ashley for her hand in marriage. The proposal continued with a surprise gathering of family and friends at Topa Topa, where the couple celebrated their engagement surrounded by love and laughter!
Against the picturesque backdrop of Country Meadow Ranch in Somis, Ashley and Eric exchanged vows on a sunny, peaceful day. From a heartwarming first look to a ceremony in front of a beautiful white chapel, their love radiated joy. The reception at Topa Topa Brewery was nothing short of spectacular, filled with games, food, and their favorite brews. Entertaining toasts, dancing, and a lively photo booth captured the essence of their love-filled day, creating memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.
